Founding principal, Jagdip (Jay) S. Barmi is a registered architect in Ontario, licenced architect in the State of Illionois, and a professional member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). He recieved his Bachelors degree from Ryerson University in Toronto and his Masters from Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) in Chicago and is licensed to practice in the State of Illinois, USA. He held positions of senior design architect in award-winning architectural firms in Toronto and Chicago until early 2009 and pursued his own practice under the name JS Barmi Architect.
He also acquired NCARB (National Council of Architectural Registration Board) certification that allows him to practice in any of the States throughout the US and/or any of the provinces in Canada through reciprocal registration. With completion of over multi millions in residential, commercial and institutional projects, Jay has been designing and managing architectural projects for over 18 years. His concerns for the environment, sustainability and complete quality-control motivated him to start his own design/build company, Livingbox apart from his architectural practice. The company focuses on limited projects every year and Jay is involved on a daily basis on all projects from their conception to completion.
